Explosion Proof Enclosures for Hazardous Areas - Product Benefits

• Explosive atmospheres can exist in many environments including industrial, commercial and residential locations.
• If an electrical discharge such as a switching arc or the spark from a static discharge occurs in an explosive atmosphere with the necessary minimum energy to ignite the fuel present, an explosion may result.

• Our ATEX products RX and LX for hazardous areas are coated with a special and expensive paint that avoids static electricity on plastic lids.
• Some of our competitors save these costs and only indicate that the enclosure should not be cleaned with a dry towel.

Note: KX-Series Enclosures are not coated as the junction boxes are normally mounted on the wall on a higher place and are not being cleaned like RX and LX that are often mounted on machines. This is according to ATEX.
